I am currently pursuing my Masters program at the University of Southern Illinois. The course is a bit tough, but the professors and everything related to the infrastructure and the management is fine. Would advice future students to apply to the university.
GRE and TOEFL were required and my college gave a special training for that when I am in my undergraduate. The college even offered Visa counsel guidance and so the F-1 Visa interview was bit easy should I say. I flew to Chicago first, stayed there for couple of days and my uncle dropped me in the college then. AirIndia through which I flew, all the student offers were available and the immigration was fine.
Assistantships are really tough and competitive.
The course is a bit tough, but the professors and everything related to the infrastructure and the management, including sports is fine.
The college is in student village and so safe. Weather is good with harsh winters. One can manage expenses with an oncampus job, which is easy to get.
Since the college is located, bit far away from city the placements are limited. I still dont know much regarding the alumni association. I guess the college provides best assistance in finding a job.
