New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology is a public university that was founded in 1893 and is located in Socorro, New Mexico. The Institute has an enrolment of approximately 1,800 students. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in arts and science with majors like aerospace studies, atmospheric sciences, biology, chemistry, computer science, earth and environmental sciences, fine arts, general studies, geochemistry, geology, humanities, hydrology and psychology. The institute also awards engineering degrees in the areas of chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, mechanical, mineral and engineering management.
