Founded in 1927, the University of Houston is a public research university in the international city of Houston, Texas. The university currently serves more than 35,000 students. The academic programs of the university span across the colleges of Architecture, Business, Education, Engineering, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Houston Law Center, Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Optometry, Pharmacy, Social Work, Technology and Honors College. The university offers undergraduate, masters, doctoral and professional degree programs. It also offers programs via the distance education program and the continuing education program.
